Background on Big Meadows aging home in Savanna Illinois

The Big Meadows project in Savanna grew from Carroll County efforts to care for the aged. Land was deeded on November 30 1964 and a $1 0725 million mortgage secured in 1966. The 100 room home faced construction delays and funding gaps with administrator Clifford C Loiselle leaving in June 1968 after a brief tenure. Readiness for occupancy around May 1968 never materialized.
