District Conservation Inspector Paul R Beebe announces the appointment of Paul Hensal of Mt. Carroll as the new Carroll county conservation officer, effective April 1. The vacancy arose last fall when Robert of Savanna moved to Cook County. Hensal follows a family lineage of Illinois conservation officers. Demeester will take over the Ogle county post, with five years in service. A large shipment of German brown trout will be distributed in Stillman, Mill and Silver creeks in Ogle county early this week, delivered from Springfield and supported by area officers and conservation clubs.

Blaze Damages Savanna Home
An early morning fire in Savanna damaged one room and furniture in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Curry and their son Steve. Passing Milwaukee railroad workers Roy Heitman John Breitbach and John Hammen spotted the blaze at about 2 20 a m, aroused the occupants and sounded the alarm, preventing further damage and potential loss of life.

Bell Infant Dies En Route to Savanna Hospital
