Allied forces push along the Hindenburg Line as British and French troops attack and seize several small towns in a bid to outflank St Quentin French gains extend further south amid ongoing operations.
With the British in France the night of Sept 19, British forces had taken more than eight thousand Germans as the Cambrai front offensive continued. Several thousand yards of the Hindenburg outpost line were in British hands this morning in the Villeret sector southwest of Catellet.
Official notice reports a new British advance into the Hindenburg line in the St. Quentin area north of Pontruet, with Australians renewing attacks and capturing Hindenburg line outposts. Lempire was taken, while German bombardments southwest of Cambrai were repulsed with heavy losses after a wide-front assault near Trescault and Moeuvres.
General Mangin's army attacked northeast of Soissons and captured Colombes farm on the Angegardiene plateau east of Sancy. French grenadiers repulsed a strong Prussian guards assault, gaining control of part of the ridge that hosts the Ladies Way, after days of severe fighting.

Three young men G H Mitchell E P McLendon and Hannah Harrel are in custody after a reported robbery at the Mitchell House Sunday night. Police say they stole Mr Turnbulls car, altered identification marks, hid the vehicle then sold it in Dothan for three hundred dollars before returning to Thomasville. The suspects await charges as investigations continue.
Five prisoners from the Fourteenth Storm battalion were captured southeast of Woeld by an American night patrol. The captives said German morale is low due to Franco American successes north of the Marne and around St Mihiel. Civilians, including a Socialist prisoner, express weariness of war and belief Americans are now as capable as in 1914.
