In Thomasville Court the verdict awards Mr. G W Reagan of Ochlocknee ten thousand dollars for damages after Mrs Reagan died when kerosene exploded while she poured it into a stove. The award is said to be half the suit’s amount with an appeal likely.
Augusta Ga September 17 Judge Rufus E Foster of New Orleans designated to preside over the next term of the United States court replacing Judge Emory Speer who faces charges in Congress. The case against Thomas E Watson once a Populist presidential candidate accused of mailing obscene material will be heard this term.
Washington reports Judge Embory Speer does not wish to preside over his court while charges against him are pending. Judge Foster of New Orleans is named to lead. The term opens in October at Augusta.
