Occasional rain today ends southwest this afternoon. Highs range from the upper 40s in the north to the mid 50s in the south. Federal aid announced for Georgia includes a 100 000 SBA loan to Economic Planning Corp of Twiggs County for Spring Valley Medical Care Home in Jeffersonville 70000 SBA loan to Fitzgerald Civic Corp for Fitzgerald Nursing Home dining and kitchen upgrades 50000 SBA loan to Johnson County Industrial Development Corp for a color coating plant at Bellview 57774 HUD grant to Winder for urban renewal close out in Barrow County 22000 HUD grant to Douglas Housing Authority for 55 low rent units 20000 HUD grant to Rome Housing Authority for 101 high rise elderly housing units.
Pan American Airways reports 90000 names on a lunar flight reservation list including Neil Armstrong Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins. The airline says no moon voyage is planned before the 21st century but notes a $10 to $25 registration fee and that some names are being kept for bookkeeping.
In Cleveland a new monthly titled Pest Control Technology features a full color Bug of the Month pinup. The inaugural issue shows a dorsal view of the Oriental cockroach and includes guidance on control methods. The feature targets ex terminators and related industries.
John R. Bobby Pinson III former Baconton mayor is appointed director of farm sales for Regional Properties of Albany. He previously served 12 years as vice president at the Federal Land Bank Association of Camilla handling farm and land appraisals. Pinson is a Mitchell County High School graduate with Emory Business Administration degree and Air Force service. He chaired Baconton City Commission and remains active in the local Baptist Church. he is married with four children.
