George Rountree Neel 90 longtime Thomasville resident and former member of Neel Brothers department store died at his home after a long illness. He organized church groups, supported prisoners' services for 35 years, and survived by wife Jennie Blackburn and son Dr Julian Neel. A memorial fund was set up with United World Missions.

Paul Kistler MacDonald 65 a retired U S Army Major General and Civil Defense executive died today at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Services were set for 4 30 p m Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with burial in Fort Lauderdale Memorial Gardens. He lived in Thomasville seven years moving from Battle Creek Michigan and served as commanding general of the 85th Infantry Division USAR in Illinois during the Korean Conflict. He joined Civil Defense Region 3 in 1966 as director of field operations retiring two years ago and received a Distinguished Service Citation from John E Davis. He earlier served in Battle Creek Region 4 and World War II service followed by education at the University of Illinois. He was a longtime civic leader in Thomasville.

Nash Mary Cosby Nash dies in Moultrie at 87
Mrs. Mary Cosby Nash aged 87 died Saturday in a Moultrie nursing home. Services were held Monday at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Floyd Porter officiating. Born February 18, 1889 in Randolph County, she was a Calvary Baptist Church member and a retired textile worker. Survivors include two sons R L Nash of Moultrie and J C Nash of Orlando Florida, five daughters Boles Beaty of Pavo Frank Pearce Will Suggs Cecil Dickens and Sam Jenkins Jr. all of Moultrie, 27 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
