A mob of about 300 in Limon Nebraska executed Preston Porter Jr known as John Porter by chaining him to a railroad rail and burning him at 6:23 PM after his crime. The mob remained orderly and deliberate throughout the proceedings as the victim endured flames. In a separate report a disastrous wreck occurred on the Plant System near McIntyre crossing killing a fireman and wrecking two freight engines and five cars.
