Meigs Georgia November 22. The ladies of the Baptist Woman's Missionary Society met Monday afternoon at the church for a business meeting. Present were Mrs. Turner Taylor Mrs. Frank Spence Mrs. H. H. Bowen Mrs. W. M. Davis and Mrs. J. N. Isler.
Meigs Georgia reports visitors and travels. Mrs Fort son Turner stayed in Ochlochneek with friends while Frank Booth on furlough from the U S Navy visited his mother Mrs B C Booth. Mrs Martha Seegers shopped in Thomasville. Mrs S E Heisler Jr spent time in Pelham. Mr and Mrs Tom Carlton of Moultrie visited. Mrs Heywood Singletary of Jacksonville is a house guest. Mrs Alma Parker is making an unspecified plan.
Government figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show factory workers' weekly earnings rising from January 1941 through the war period. Gross earnings up 71 percent, net spendable income up 47 percent, straight time pay up 42 percent, and overall wage rates up 28 percent. The 16 percent general increase rule set by the War Labor Board in 1942 remains in force, with labor groups pushing to relax it. Meanwhile local notices mention visits and social notes from Meigs and nearby towns.
In Germany on November 12 the Second Infantry Division men built a crude log church half a mile from the front. Chaplain Ernest Sinfield said the chapel stands as a monument to American ideals as bombers roared overhead and guns thundered in the distance. Lt Col Clinton Barsanti led the project with Pfc Ernest C Newman and about a dozen log cutters from several outfits.

Miss Lillian Hart and William M. Davis wed at Bainbridge First Baptist Church in a simple ceremony led by Rev. H. H. Shell. The couple plans a short wedding trip before Davis returns to duty as a Seaman First Class in the U S Navy.
Bainbridge Ga November 22 George Clark AMM-1c son of Mrs W A Dole Bainbridge has completed an Advanced Aircraft Engineering Course in Chicago and returned to his squadron in California He has spent four and a half years in the U S Navy and two years nine months overseas with a bomber squadron.

Bainbridge Ga November 22 Mrs Kynor Catett hosted a meeting of the Baptist junior business women group with local participants attending and sharing reports on community projects.
German radio said Allied aircraft based in Italy attacked into Germany from the south after a night raid on Ruhr oil plants and rail targets. The assault followed a daytime raid by about 1,250 American heavy bombers with 1,109 escort fighters, leaving 40 bombers and 17 fighters missing on return.
