4-H Achievement Day Promises Active Saturday at Market
Thomas County youths from all parts of the county showcase exhibits at the State Farmers Market. County Agent Ray Stephens and Home Demonstration Agent Miss Nellene Faulk guided the youngsters through a year of work. A&P contest winners from nearby counties will join in the event with trips and cash prizes. Public invited to view demonstrations, tractors, and displays at the paved market grounds.

Atlanta November 17 AP Georgia will pay 2,709,871.50 to needy old people blind persons and dependent children this month Welfare Director Alan Kemper announced a 53,685 increase over last month The number of beneficiaries rose 1 201 to 111 198.

Los Angeles AP report says actor John Agar will not oppose the divorce action by his wife Shirley Temple. Superior Court Judge Clarence Kincaid set December 5 for trial on cruelty charges after Agar did not file an answer within ten days. The couple, married September 19 1945, reportedly reached a settlement and Agar, then in New York, will support their 21 month old daughter Linda Susan.
