Farmers bank seed cane after the shower while cool weather keeps wood haulers busy. Georgia crate factory rushes crates to Florida for oranges and tomatoes. Thomas county names senator from the 7th district and sends four pieces of pie. Miss Ella Kelley moves to Quitman Syrup Co as stenographer. Local residents seen in town and on roads. Ben enjoys good health.
The few winter visitors arriving early this season have no reason to regret it. Since October first, the weather has been nearly perfect with scarcely any exceptionable day.
Mesers J. L. Turcer, Frank Ansley, Fred Smith, A. G. Har graves and Dr. Bracy spent Friday on Miccosukie lake duck shooting. They report a pleasant time and bagged about forty ducks.
Mrs J C Nippes and Miss Nippes of Philadelphia arrived for the winter at Hotel Masury and praise Thomasville, its people, climate, and flowers. Mr W O Todd of Providence R I visited Thomasville briefly before returning home, and friends hope for his return soon.

Col Horton arranged the races, with Speerhase possibly staying through the season to compete. Dogs may drive the horses along Broad Street later this week.

Dry weather forced replanting, yet Mitchell stays cheerful and hopeful for a rich harvest.
Manila reports Maj. Pilcher of the Highland Infantry states the Abra de Llog garrison was attacked yesterday by insurgents who tried Samar tactics. The Americans, breakfasting but armed, routed the attackers who left five dead on the field with rifles and ammunition.
The House voted 95 to 45 to approve an anti barroom bill by Mr. Wright of Floyd. It grants counties the right to petition for an election to decide if a dispensary or dispensaries may be established within the county.
Minister Conger in Pekin reports to the state department that Yuan Shi Kai will replace Li Hung Chang as viceroy of Chi Li. The appointment marks a major shift in Chinese governance with Yuan assuming Li’s post.
