Missionary to Congo to headline presbyterian workshop
A Congo missionary and three youths who joined a Mexican Christian camp last summer will be featured at a witness workshop at First Presbyterian Church on Dawson Street next Wednesday at 6 30 p m. Rev. John Ellington, serving in the Congo for four years, will speak inspir ationally and a slide presentation from the Mexico trip will be shown by Ginger Perkins Kathy NeSmith and George Horkan II. Registration begins at 6 with supper. materials for the denomination's witness season will be reviewed and the theme film Where the People Are previewed.

Income Up Drinking Down in Georgia Revenues
Georgia revenue reports show overall tax collections rising in October with a 12.4 percent year over year increase and a 10.5 percent gain for the first four months of the fiscal year. Corporate income taxes are up nine percent and sales taxes up 12.3 percent for October while liquor and wine taxes dip slightly for the month but rise for the year. State Revenue Commissioner Peyton Hawes says growth in Georgia's economy is outpacing the national pace.
