Wall Street moved higher in a moderately active session with gains across sectors. Dow Jones up 176 to 752.57 at noon, with industrials and rails rising while steel held steady and oils sagged.

Joe Lane and Det. Prim. O. L. Barnard identified Jack Henderson Jr., 39, of 102 Lowery St., as charged Saturday with possession and transportation of non tax paid liquor.
PFC Madi Barnes Jr., a driver in Howitzer Battery of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, provided support near Kaiserslautern, Germany, for Operation Big Lift, a NATO transportation exercise that concluded on November 5.
In Woodrow New Jersey workers began recovering the body of 18 year old Harry Van Dynk after a landslide of earth near an abandoned mine shaft. Police said he was playing near the rim with two friends when the slope gave way and slid into the shaft. The boys, Ar ror Milligan 11 and Randall Milligan 13, escaped.
Veterans Day 1963 opened with a rifle salute and a day of ceremonies led by local veterans groups. Sweeny introduced by E C McDaniel. flag-raising by Charlie Thornton. remarks by Mayor Roy Lilly and Hosea Vann. Gold Star Mothers introduced by Thornton D Smith. The parade, breakfast gatherings, and a Moody AFB color guard kicked off a day featuring a memorial service, barbecue, turkey shoot, and widespread flag displays along Broad Street. The Thomas County Veterans Council organized the events with William Stackley as general chairman.
A 28 year old Negro woman Dora Lee Bush of 126 School St suffered lip laceration and left wrist contusion in a Magnolia Street one car wreck at 2 am. Marian G Marshall 21 of 1302 Wright St drove into a ditch after brakes failed. Marshall had bruised nose and chest. Two others Eloise McLamb 39 and Hughie McLamb 42 of 429 E Clay St were injured in a late Friday wreck on Albany Rd. Police said.
The Georgia Democratic Party named Travis B. Stewart of Atlanta as executive director to coordinate party affairs amid rising Republican activity. Appointed by Democratic Chairman J. B. Fuqua of Augusta, the action followed Gov. Carl E Sanders's suggestion on Saturday.
A two car wreck occurred at 6 28 a m Sunday at Smith Ave and Dawson St. Vehicles driven by Arthur Mobley Nolen of Pavo and Aurelius D Davis of 809 Wright St. were involved. Both drivers were charged with careless driving and wreck in the city. Vernon Fletcher reported.
