Town notes boast a big street fair from Nov 14 to 16 with races and civic events. Railway schedule tweaks for the fair promise special trains and round trip rates. Local leaders praise Plant System service while sermons and public speeches anchor the town’s news.
The Thomasville Lyceum Association presents Ralph Bingham a versatile entertainer including impersonation violin and vocal work. The show is scheduled for the evening of November 14. Lyceum leaders urge members to promptly pay their dues as most have yet to do so.
The Moultrie Observer reports Thomasville plans a carnival and street fair on November 14 15 16 with free admission and discounted railroad fares. Moultrie crowds are expected to attend as in past years.
Valdosta Georgia November 2 The Valdosta Fair section reports Brooks County wins a $500 first prize for the county exhibit. Lowndes and Camden counties take second and third prizes of $300 and $200. Individual farm product prizes go to W E Pane of Dodge, Susie Williams of Worth, and B D Louisden of Bibb. The racing program features a new south of the Ohio pacing record by Effie Powers in 2 103.
Preparations for Thomasville’s big street fair and race meeting are set to impress. Free attractions include Dana Thompson and wife the world famous high Givers Harry Landa u the human snake B C Roberts comedy clown Simmons and Brown aeronauts parascenders and a family of acrobats. The three day event promises a lively midway with about twenty five first class attractions already secured.

The couple Mr W M Hinson andMiss Sallie E Hinson are cousins facing parental opposition. They left for church but eloped to Waycross to catch a train, using a hired man to adjust the trains so the ceremony could occur.

Caryville Florida November 1 about dusk October 30 a large negro named Austen attempted to assault the wife of Landrum Goodlett in her home. She resisted and he fled but was captured next day at Bonifay and brought to Caryville. A lynch mob concealed along Gom Creek shot at deputies as they escorted him to Vernon jail, seriously wounding Austen who is seen as fatally harmed. The incident sparked strong local anger and mixed white support for the mob action.
