Brookwood School awarded its top honor the Headmaster's to Nelray Rice during the commencement. The Patricia James Bullock memorial service award went to Scott Lyle for broad school contributions. The speakers included Rev. Ferman L. Young of McCallie School, Chattanooga.

Reverend Young Addresses Class of Seventy Six Graduation
The minister told graduates they face a paradox of readiness and desire to stay. He urged making lemonade from a lemon situation and called graduates the last chance for immortality. Salutatorians and the valedictorian spoke as diplomas were handed by Lyle and board chair Joe Beverly, followed by an informal reception hosted by the board.

Cattle Show Set for June 12 at Whigham Farm

Cod War Truce In Principle Reached Between Britain And Iceland
Britain and Iceland agreed in principle on a six month cod war truce over Iceland’s 200 mile exclusion zone. The deal would let 24 British trawlers fish within 20 miles of Iceland in specified areas until November 30 while long term talks continue.
