Charles Cowart of a U S Minesweeper medical staff is on furlough, joined by his mother Mrs L J Cowart, Miss Bessie Cowart of Pampano Fla, Miss Dorothy Cowart of Savannah and Ray Cowart of Auburn Ala. Additional locals visited, traveled or spoke in Bainbridge and De Funiak Springs with family and civic members.
Donalsonville Georgia May 24 Sponsors of the May War Bond Drive held a basketball event at the school gymnasium. Tickets cost ten cents for children twenty five cents for adults and stamps were kept by buyers. The High School played the Athletic Club. girls 28 to 24 and boys 26 to 19 in favor of the Athletic Club. Bond sales neared the monthly goal.
The Donalsonville Woman's Club held its final meeting of the year at Mrs Dallas Wurst's home with hostesses Mrs J L Dickenson Mrs J L Jernigan and Miss Lillie Seale. Mrs J B Thomas led the business session as annual reports were presented by officers and committee chairs.
