Mae Steyerman read a letter from George Stone hospital director urging a donation to the building fund. An autumn cake sale was planned with no date set. Martha Harrison to Receive Superior Service Award
Mrs. Martha Harrison former Thomas County Home Demonstration Agent is among 25 nationwide to receive Superior Service Awards presented at a ceremony on the Washington Monument Grounds. Georgia 4-H leader Tommy Walton credited her with guiding a program reaching 141 825 youth and helping raise over 8 million dollars for a statewide camping initiative. Her 1942 to 1946 tenure pioneered county 4-H camps and community improvement efforts gaining nation wide notice.
