Bainbridge Georgia May 13 The community mourns the death of Mrs C A Miller Sr who died Saturday May 8 after years of ill health She was born January 14 1879 in Decatur county and was the wife of the late C A Miller Sr Survivors include four sons C A Miller Jr mayor of Bainbridge Melvin Miller in the U S Army Robert L and Herbert Miller of Detroit and four daughters Mrs Leon Gainey Mrs H O Shely Mrs Arvin Long all of Bainbridge and Mrs Jack Kennedy of Norfolk Also twenty two grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral services were held May 11 at 3 p m from the residence with Rev H H Heisler and Rev J K Ward officiating Interment in Oak City cemetery Active pallbearers listed.
The Bainbridge Rotary Club held its annual ladies night at the Gilbert hotel with members wives and prominent guests. Corsages of defense stamps were given as souvenirs. Rev Joe JagEyla Columbus and Harold Saxon of Atlanta attended as special guests. Guy Wells president of GSCW Milledgeville urged humor in life while Rev Cook discussed democracy Christianity and the war impact.
Miss Lillian Margaret Lane of Bainbridge and Carrabelle Fla married Lt. Edward Marsh St John of Temple Texas and the 28th Infantry at Bainbridge First Baptist Church May 9. The double ring ceremony was conducted by Rev H H Shell and Chaplain Burleigh A Peters with a reception at the Moore home.
Official minutes show Chairman R M Reynolds and commissioners J T Laslie R G Pope George W Howell and J L Brock plus Attorney W H Miller and Warden C C Harrell present. Mrs Freddie Lou Campbell appeared before the board seeking assistance or action.
