Three distinct appeals for peace were made by President Roosevelt the Pope and the Duke of Windsor. The actions aimed to deter aggression and spare the world from a catastrophic war, with a mix of praise and skepticism from observers about their impact.
The piece calls on the state legislature to act in a special session to close an eight million dollar deficit for next year. It argues for clear terms of financial support to school systems and warns against delaying action while officials seek funds from taxes highways or other sources. An option exists on two acres, with space for 200 pound lockers and potential expansion.

Eighty eight landowners applied for plant use reporting 17 158 acres in cultivation 6747 hogs raised 742 beef cattle and 27 5 crates of eggs weekly. Contracts for construction and start dates to be announced. The Camilla plant joins a Piqua Ohio facility as cooperative owned and operated by REA farmers with power from REA lines.
In Camilla on May 11 the Camilla Garden Club met in the Mitchell county court house with President Ef J Vann Jr presiding. Plans were discussed to award four prizes from the Camilla Lions Club for home owners and renters, with strong interest shown by local negro participants. A dahlia show is proposed for fall, with a townwide invitation to plant dahlias. The next meeting will be in the fall as clubs close for summer.
