The Youngs College property advertised for sale at sheriff’s noon sale to satisfy Mrs. Maggie Wade’s Athens judgment was postponed. The judgment has been transferred to several city men, members of the Methodist church, who hold it while evaluating if the property could be used as a school under Vashti Home management. Two men are dead and a third mortally wounded after two pistol battles near Vienna Georgia. Oscar Blow and P P Sangster fought. Sangster was killed. Sheriff Bennett wounded by Blow and killed Blow as he fell. The neighbors, both farmers, had met to settle differences. Blow fired on the sheriff when asked to surrender.
Washington May 7 The United States will continue a policy of permitting arm shipments from this country to Mexico for Huerta’s government, provided officials ensure arms do not reach Rebels. Gomez travels to confer with Villa at Eagle Pass as factions consider alliance.
The Agriculture Department's May crop report states winter wheat is 91.9 percent of normal. Expected harvest area is nearly 1.5 million acres less than planted last autumn, but over four million more than harvested last year, with an estimated yield of 518,571,000 bushels.

Athens May 6 Aleko Schinas the man who shot King George of Greece on March 18 in Salonika died this morning after leaping from a window at the police station. He had claimed that in 1911 he sought help at the palace but was driven away. Doctors had announced he was dying of tuberculosis.
Washington May 7. After a conference with President Wilson today Postmaster General Burleson announced an executive order to require competitive examinations for all first class postmasters or candidates for nominations to test fitness. He said Wilson aims to place second and third class postmasters in the classified service within the year and set a sixty five year age limit.
Savannah on May 8 reports Isaac Silva convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Marion Leonard a chorus girl for giving morphine injection. He was sentenced to two years in the state penitentiary.

Malcomb Jones died at nine o'clock after an electric current while changing a light bulb at the Chero-Cola bottling plant. Doctor reports heart trouble possibly triggered by fright from the shock. Jones, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones of Meigs, nephew of Hon. EB Wilkes, had been in town five days. Funeral arrangements set with Rev. T. A. White traveling to Meigs for the service.
Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels, a guest of Jacksonville, said he would support Florida Navy Yards at Pensacola and Key West. He and Mrs. Daniels had lunch aboard a U.S. yacht here and planned to proceed to Key West later.

Atlanta reports say Chubb Wall, captured by Chief J H Surbar of the Internal Revenue Department, is one of Georgia s richest recent captures. Rewards for Wall run into four figures. He awaits trial in state and federal courts on felonies from the past decade. Wall, son of Rabun county taxpayer Mrs Snyther Wall, is a college graduate with a long criminal history including a life sentence for killing a peddler and later an uncle’s shooting. He escaped multiple times and allegedly ran a large illicit distillery in North Georgia before his latest apprehension by U S Internal Revenue officers.
