The measure would allow 15 southern states to form compacts to fund and operate regional universities, aiming to aid Meharry Medical College and other graduate schools. Donalsonville May 6 Miss Jonne Dale Gibson was crowned Queen of May at Seminole High School by popular student vote. The May Day program, staged by the Senior Tri-Hi-Y, featured maids and a flower girl, piano, and a tribute to the Queen with poems and songs in the school gym.

Final Rites for Miss Ella Nesbitt at Pavo Primitive Baptist
Miss Ella Louise Nesbitt died in Leesburg and services were held at 4 p.m. at the Pavo Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Price officiating. Interment will be in Pavo. Born December 24 1934 in Brooks County she was the daughter of J R Nesbitt and Mrs J R Nesbitt and survived by three brothers Bill Jack and Albert. Grandmother Mrs M W Stones and grandfather Mr S A Nesbit among others. Whiddon Funeral Home arranged the funeral.
