Telegram reports 81 year old W P Wages critically ill in a Tampa hospital with a fractured hip since six weeks. Rev W Harvey Wages and his father were in Tampa as Thomas County friends hope for a mercy sparing.
Rev J Gorham Garrison, former county school head, is elected superintendent of the Ochlocknee Consolidated Schools returning to a role he held previously. The move follows countywide changes with Harry Vann named Boston public schools chief and L C Clemons resigning.

The deficit for nine months of the 1933 fiscal year totaled 1 585 625 498 at April end. Receipts from income taxes and customs duties declined to 583 168 665 and 207 289 317 respectively.
Albert W. Fuller formerly of Macon Georgia who was to be hanged at San Quentin for killing William Kipp has been granted a reprieve until June 16 by Governor James Rolph Jr. A hearing on the case was held and Judge Martin I. Welsh asked for a delay pending his report. Fuller was convicted of pushing Kipp into an abandoned mine shaft and pleaded self defense.
Washington May 2 The senate banking committee asked for broad authority to investigate loans made by the Reconstruction Finance Corporation after reports of unjustifiable advances at the relief organization.
Speaker Rainey told reporters Congress could finish the president’s emergency program and adjourn by June 1. He cited securities, railroad, public works and tariff bills as the core remaining measures, noting the 30 hour week bill is not yet part of the administration agenda.
