Funeral services for 83 year old Mrs. E D Cooper were held at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev James Agan and Rev R W Courtney officiating. Burial followed at New Bethel Cemetery. Mrs Cooper died March 10 at Vereen Memorial Hospital in Moultrie. She was born November 8 1875 in Mitchell County and moved to Colquitt County in 1905 with her husband EK D Cooper. She helped found New Bethel Baptist Church and was its oldest member at death. Active pallbearers included Lewis Presley Jack Hall Paul Bryant Gordon Griner Roy Vick and Jesse Ayers. Surviving are four sons five daughters two sisters one brother thirty five grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
