Funeral services were held at Pine Level church with Rev Robert Brown officiating.

George Hansell of Madison Florida visited here. Mrs Mary Carter stays with her daughter Mrs Ralph Taylor in Calumbus.
Mrs Owen Fields hosted the Bainbridge Book Club on Flint Street. Members enjoyed a richly decorated living room and a sweet course after the program. Mrs Wallace Poweent reviewed four current magazine selections including Happy Land by Kantor and Men Without Country by Norchott and Hall.

Bainbridge Ga March 3 Captain George A Gilbert squadron commander at Bainbridge Army Air Field basic flying school has a 27 year career and four service branches He served as a private in 1920 under a young officer later General Dwight Eisenhower who led advances in Africa and later commanded the allied forces in World War II He began his career in 1916 and served on the Mexican border overseas with the Army Air Forces in France now serving again in the nation’s defense
Col. John R. Skeldon, Bainbridge Army Air Field commander, ordered daily retreat formations for basic flying school personnel in squadron areas starting March 1 at 5 45 p m with exceptions for staff assigned to other training duties. The guard squadron Cadet Corps and post band will meet at the flagpole area near headquarters for a brief nightly ceremony.

The Courts and Boards staff at Bainbridge Army Air Field moved into new quarters across from post headquarters. The new courtroom with a circular bar was modeled after Cochran Field and built under Major McBride S. McFadden. The facility will host courts martial and meetings for officer candidate school boards, with named officers listed as special and general court martial members and defense counsel.

In Savannah Georgia March 3 a compromise labor stabilization program for the Savannah Brunswick area was expected to receive formal approval today after one management member’s absence delayed a meeting. W L Mingledorff Jr named as management spokesman and to report this morning. Labor and government reps have approved the plan set to affect about 35000 workers in the first instance.
Atlanta report says a Senate resolution authorizes the joint committee of the General Assembly to press the effort to define the true dividing line between Georgia and Tennessee. Georgia objects to encroachment on its territory and vows ongoing action.
