Farmer 23 Found Dead After Wedding Near Moultrie
A 23 year old farmer identified as Melvin Bowes was found dead with a bullet wound in a patch of woods south of Moultrie Georgia. He had married the day before and had left with a promise to return to a theater. Coroner's jury found death by gunshot with powder burns near the ear. The bride was Miss Liza May Norman from Colquitt County. The case triggered wide local attention as investigators pursued motive and circumstances.
