New York June 27. R Edward G. Barrow business manager of the New York Yankees apologized for the assault on Bill Slocum veteran baseball writer of the New York American. Jacob Ruppert owner of the club expressed profound regret and named George Perry his secretary to handle press contacts formerly managed by Barrow. The attack grew from Slocum’s article criticizing the club secrecy over trades and news.

Mill hand killed in Nocatee crate mill accident

Grover Dees, 29, died in a hospital after a crate mill incident in Nocatee Monday. A wooden block shifted on a mechanical arm striking his head on his first day at work. He is survived by a widow and three children and will be buried in Quitman, Georgia. his brother P D Dees was present.
