Meigs family news notes guests and returns. Mrs. J. J. Ford hosts daughter Mrs. Willie C. Britt and baby son of Camilla. Bulloch returns to Ochlochnee after visiting Rev. and Mrs. J. W. M. Stipe at the parsonage.
War shortages push a federal nursery at Americus Georgia to test guayule grown rubber milkweed and cork trees. About 75 tea plants are grown for trial with autumn planting planned. 700 cork oaks from California were recently planted. John Powell calls guayule rubber trials tentative but promising if climate and rainfall cooperate.
Mrs William Tonge entertained her club at Academy street with blue hydrangeas pink alpheas and roses. After several rubber games high score prize went to Mrs Maston ONeal. Guests included Mrs Ehrlich Mr Jester Mr Warner Mr Battles and Miss Gray.
The Bainbridge Lions Club will hold its annual Ladies Night and installation of officers Friday at 8 30 p m at the Gilbert Hotel. All Lions and Lionesses are urged to attend this important affair.
Bainbridge notes Mrs. E. E. Davis and Miss Mary Davis are in Dothan Alabama for the wedding of their cousin Miss Wyllene Hall. Mrs. Bertram Ehrlich and her son Erwin plan a two month visit to Knoxville Tennessee with grandparents and parents.
