Evangelistic Services Continue at Dillon Church Weeklong Series

The Dillon Presbyterian Church hosts a weeklong revival led by Rev. Lawrence Williams and Rev. Ansley C. Moore. Young people filled Friday night as families joined in, and Mr Snow Quick’s family won a new testament for the largest immediate family. A Daily Vacation Bible School runs two hours each morning with a noted faculty including Misses McGavock, McGrew, Patterson, and Rolt.

Adults of Camilla church urged to attend meeting

District Superintendent P E Bailey calls a Sunday afternoon meeting for all adult workers in the Thomasville District of the Methodist Church. The event at Camilla Methodist Church features a program prepared with support from George Neel, the local adult superintendent and the pastor urges full attendance.

Young People Program At First Presbyterian Church

A special morning program for Junior and Senior Sunday School groups at First Presbyterian is planned for tomorrow at 10:00. W C Massey oversees the event with talks on Sunday School history by Hansell Watt and community value by Mrs Watt. Evelyn Rolt speaks for the youth and Rev Ainsley M Moore offers the concluding address with music and directed by Massey. Parents of Intermediate and Senior students are urged to attend.

Methodist Church notes record strong Thomasville District Conference

The Thomasville District Conference met last week in a highly successful session. Our church sent a one hundred percent delegation, the pastor noting the splendid spirit. Mid week prayer service times shift from 8:30 pm to 7:45 am, lasting forty five minutes, with the series What Methodist Believe continuing indefinitely.

Evangelistic Services Moved to Sunday at Mission

Announcement says the Evangelistic Club canceled tonight’s meeting due to a revival at the Baptist Church. Services will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Mission with Dr Faust preaching and Mr Rowland directing the singing. A prayer meeting runs 2:30 to 3:00 PM and a large crowd is expected. Lindbergh Home Linked to New Child Welfare Center

The New Jersey State Institutions Commissioner approved a children's welfare center at the Lindbergh home in the Sourland Mountains near Hopewell. High Field will run the center with trustees including Abraham Flexner and Col. and Mrs. Lindbergh. The Lindberghs’ home had been abandoned after the kidnapping of their firstborn son in March last year.

Southland pictured as starting place of prosperity

Memphis June 24 Oscar Johnson finance administrator of the agricultural adjustment administration pictured the south as a starting place of prosperity. He said prosperity in the agricultural south and southwest must precede industrial recovery and that the economic structure and lives of forty million persons in the cotton belt depend on the Wallace cotton acreage reduction plan. Mr Johnson spoke before mid-south newspaper editors and cotton producers.

Former grid player faces extortion plot in Carrollton

Carrollton Georgia June 24 former college football star John McGouirk Jr was detained on suspicion in a plot to extort $500 from a local merchant by threats to his son. A decoy package was placed and observed as McGouirk retrieved it and returned home. Federal investigators joined the case.

American plans conflicting at conference drafts workable plan

A sub committee of the economic commission released a draft plan outlining wholesale price rises for primary products and coordinated production and marketing proposals. The conference paused work to review the draft which emphasizes a workable overall scheme and mentions fusion of pricing and marketing efforts.

Senator Russell to Leave Washington for Georgia Home

Senator Richard B. Russell Jr. left Washington Friday night for his home in Winder Georgia. His secretary Leeman Anderson will depart Sunday for Atlanta where he will be joined Monday by the Senator. Russell will open an office Monday in the federal building in Atlanta to operate during Congress adjournment. His Washington office remains open under assistant secretaries.
