Deaths of Mr and Mrs Peck Spur Murder Theory in Cobb County Ga
Cobb County police pursued a murder theory in the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. J E Peck whose bodies were found beside their wrecked car at the bottom of a 452 foot railroad cut near Austell. Kerosene odors saturated clothing and the back seat suggested the bodies were placed there before the car plunged. Investigators traced the couple’s movements after leaving Carrollton and sought a missing left shoe and a half inch plow rope tied around Mrs Peck’s neck. A coroner’s jury was to reconvene as double funeral services were arranged in Atlanta with burial planned side by side in Greenwood Cemetery.
