Funeral services for George H Cook 65 Decatur county farmer were held at his Attapulgus residence with Rev J H McKinnon and Rev James E Ward officiating. Interment followed in Attapulgus cemetery. Survived by sisters Mrs D H Wood and Miss Jeanette Wood a nephew Julian C Wood and foster sister Mrs B H Hines. Cook born in Attapulgus lived there all his life and served as a Decatur county commissioner. He was a Presbyterian and active in civic and religious life of the county and city. E W Cox Funeral Director handled arrangements.
The Bainbridge community notes the marriage of Zetta Pearl Miller to Jack Wood Kennedy. The ceremony occurred April 2 in Thomasville Georgia. Zetta Pearl is the daughter of C A Miller Sr and Mrs Miller. Kennedy is the son of Mr and Mrs J C Kennedy of Gordon Alabama. The couple will reside in Bainbridge.
Bainbridge Georgia June 20 Mr and Mrs Ramsey Simmons entertained their Friday night bridge club at their Oldfield Florida lodge in honor of Mr and Mrs Wallace Ashley who depart for Smithville North Carolina. The weekend featured bridge boat riding fishing and other amusements with guests including Mr and Mrs Wellace Ashley Mr and Mrs H H Nussbaum Mr and Mrs J E White Mr and Mrs Mayo Livingston of Albany Mr and Mrs H H Felty Mr and Mrs Wesley Callahan and Mrs Julian Slager.
A congenial fishing-trip party gathered in Bainbridge over the weekend including Huston Roger W J Brockett Phil Welch Jamie Jester Dennis Mincey Jack Kirbo Emmet Seaborn A H Perham and Ralph Alday. Miss Dorothy Grice of Jacksonville Florida is visiting the town as the guest of Mr and Mrs.
Dr A Miller Jr and Mrs S A Brinson returned home after visiting son Sheldon Brinson in Jacksonville and daughter Mrs Milton Brownlee in Gainesville. Bainbridge residents J G McKenzie and Stuart McKenzie spent Sunday and Monday in Beacon Hill Florida. Several Bainbridge residents, including Lloyd Rich Paul Battle Ed Cloud H E W Cox E H Smart Dennard B W Harrell H L Jeffords and Katherine Wimberly, will attend the American Legion and Auxiliary state convention in Atlanta June 20 to 22.
