Grave concern over future of Christian missions in China
New York reports grave concern over the immediate future of Christian missions in China amid anti foreign and anti Christian unrest. Episcopal Bishop Gilham cabled of withdrawals and women and children being ordered to ports as mission schools close. Other missions fear similar moves and note Bolshevist currents and Soviet influence behind the disturbances.

Heart and Religion Key in Bryan Graduation Address
William Jennings Bryan told Miami graduates that science is valuable but must be guided by religion. He urged a blend of faith and education, warning that education alone can lead to dangerous outcomes and citing trials where intellect without morals caused harm. The Dayton trial of John T. Scopes looms as a practical test case for these ideas.

Dorothy Perkins Collapses in Court in Templeton Killing Trial
New York June 13 The trial of Dorothy Perkins for the killing of her suitor Thomas A. Templeton was adjourned until Monday after the defendant collapsed in court and was carried out for medical treatment. The collapse followed the introduction of a letter said to be from Perkins to rival Mickey Conners, intercepted by Conners’s wife. The letter’s contents were not disclosed. Conners, a truck driver serving six months for wife beating, was brought to the courtroom. Perkins showed distress as testimony proceeded. Aunt Letitia Dunlap testified that Templeton wrestled with Perkins and her parents over a revolver before the fatal shot. Brother Day Herold Perkins denied he had said his sister confessed to the shooting.

Listen Like Old Man Way on a Rich Uncle
A quip from Old Man Way about his rich uncle who disapproves. He says he will never get a cabin or any bread cast upon the waters would buy a luncheon wafer for a goldfish. The remark blends humor with resigned frustration.
