City offers pools to highest bidder after demonstrations
On May 328 the city commission voted to offer the pools to the highest and best bidder. Bids will be accepted by the city manager’s office until June 11 and opened and published then. All recreation facilities except the library have been closed since racial demonstrations last year. The library was reopened on a nonsegregated standing room basis.
