Famed Pilot Oakley G. Kelly Dies in California
Oakley G. Kelly aged 74 died Sunday in El Cajon California. A lieutenant in the Army Air Corps he and Lt John A MacReady piloted the first non stop transcontinental flight in 1922. They departed New York with only a compass and landed in San Diego after about 27 hours. Kelly retired in 1948 as a colonel after 33 years of service.

Collision Damages Two Trucks Near Thom asville
A two-vehicle crash on Lower Boston Road ten miles east of Thom asville at 5 20 p m involved a 1962 Ford Dump Truck driven by Albert F Kennedy 41 and a 1965 Chevrolet pickup driven by Jenkins Simons 52 of Boston. No injuries and no charges were reported.
