New U S 84 Highway Link Nears Opening to Traffic
Work on the 8.49 mile Thomasville to Boston section of U S 84 is in final prep for public use with asphalt down July 18 and signs being installed. The project cost 844 764 and shortens the drive from Thomasville to Quitman cutting dangerous curves bridges and hills. Construction began in October 1964 with most heavy traffic detoured via Ga 122 through Pavo.

Missing C47 Plane Search Enlarged Over Pacific
The air sea search for Brig. Gen. Joseph W. Stilwell Jr. aboard a missing C47 has grown to cover about 105000 square miles. The last contact was Sunday 600 miles from San Francisco.
