In the town notices Mr J B Grant and Mrs Mia sourit Hagan returned from White Springs. Miss Marion Hayes visits Catoosa Springs. Treasury holds a surplus of 200000000. July county court fines total 531 or 70 months hard labor. A street ice wagon incident scattered blocks on South Broad. Mr J Sims ships eleven carloads of melons from 18 acres weighing 210 pounds each. Roddenberg of Metcalfe displays a 70 pound Triumph melon.
A notice corrects yesterday's typo naming Judge Lynce Harrison and defends the judge against lynching insinuations. The piece notes Dr. McIntosh's suggestion for a high grade school or Female College in Thomasville and calls for broad local endorsement.

The suspect had broken into a freight car at the station on Thursday night and stole a large quantity of shoes. He refused to give his name, but remains in jail.
The Waycross Herald notes John Cox faced taunts from cheering Thomasville women after a shooting contest. Editors and spouses attended the Stuart gathering, planning to travel to Quitman for press association events and then Tybee to hear waves. Mrs. De White, recently at White Springs for health, returned home via Thomasville.
A friendly afternoon shooting contest at the Crackers club traps drew many spectators including numerous ladies. The Waycross Club showed skill but was outshot by the Crackers, 15 birds, with Titus Heeth and H W Hopkins among top scorers.
Mr J H Conly, long connected with Superintendent Kirkland’s office, is appointed private secretary to Mr J R Kenly general manager of the Atlantic Coast Line. The move is a notable promotion and he sails for Wilmington North Carolina, headquarters of the A C L, to begin his new duties. Local friends in Thomasville express regret at his departure and wish him success.
The arrested man identified as Nelson Nelson faced county court after alleged shoe theft from an A. C. L. car at the depot. Solicitor Hopkins built a strong case. Judge Hansell ordered a $100 fine or twelve months in jail. He is to be sent to Brices to serve the sentence.

Captain A A Cassady of Thomasville suffered a sudden stroke at his Clay Street home Sunday morning around seven o clock He has been largely speechless and unconscious since the attack and is held in esteem by the community as officials express concern for his recovery An early fire alarm drew the department to the Stephens Calhoun street corner where a small fire in a house occupied by Bob Williams was quickly extinguished

McMillan beat H Watt one up, Bracey beat Jack Watt three up, and Lutz beat Dismuke three up, giving Hansell Watt's side a five up win. A killing occurred near the shanty of Bloyd Smith & You five miles from town on Sunday morning. The inquest found John Coleman died July 13 1902 from a left breast wound inflicted by George Hopkins with a 32 caliber pistol.
