Naked Man Found on Hudson River Pier
A naked man was found on a Manhattan pier after a cooling swim. The man, Coleman Roger Rafferty from County Sligo Ireland, stood on the pier asking for directions to Hoboken as he wore only a friendly smile. He was separated by over a mile of Hudson River water from his clothing aboard the S. S. Boston City at Hoboken.

Low Flying Blamed for California Airliner Crash
Civil Aeronautics Board cites low flying as cause of a non-scheduled airliner crash near Los Angeles that killed 35 and injured 14. Quitman Ga July 14 The 149 melon season in Brooks county closed with 1454 cars shipped over two railroads leading growers Pidcock Quitman Morven Barney Baden and Kimpress. Ga Northern at Barwick Pavo may raise total shipments to 2000 cars amid heavy truck shipments. The 149 crop is one of the county’s biggest with earnings above a half million dollars.
