Settlement Awards In Condemnation Cases Appealed
The Bureau of Public Roads directed an appeal from awards in condemnation for rights-of-way for the new U S Highway 19 first 13 mile stretch. County Attorney E P McCollum filed the appeals noting differences between appraisers and assessors figures. Thurday was the final date for long appeals within a 10 day limit. The effort has involved months of legal work to obtain the figure of way for the new highway east of the city.

A. J. Dixon, 44, of Dixie Georgia, died Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from a heart attack while working at a saw mill near Merrillville. Funeral set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenfield Baptist Church with Rev. Columbus Gregory officiating. Interment in Greenfield Cemetery. Two Mobley Brothers Held in 1987 Ford Theft Case
Two white brothers Robert Mobley 38 and J G Mobley 38 of Colquitt county are jailed on theft charges after a 1987 Ford from Jimmy Gilbert local garage was stolen Wednesday and sold in Moultrie for 20 dollars with the buyer later refunded. Colquitt deputies arrested them after a warrant by the car owner. They await trial.

Young Electrician in Critical Condition After Fall
An 18 year old apprentice electrician, Tommy Ott of Charleston, S.C., was seriously injured while on a 10 foot ladder at Douglass High School. He touched a live 110 volt circuit and fell to a tile floor. fellow electrician Sammy Robertson shut off power and rendered artificial respiration until Archbold Memorial Hospital. Ott underwent emergency surgery as his parents and brother arrived.

Mrs Daisy Williams Dies Unexpectedly in Sleep
Mrs Daisy B Williams, who had lived here about a year, died in her sleep at her daughter's home 1201 E Washington St. She was a St Thomas Episcopal Church member, coming from Brownville Penn. The body will go to Brownsville for services with Whiddon's Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements. Other survivors include another daughter Mrs Helen He wit Youngstown Ohio.
