Eleven people died and fifteen were injured in July fourth eve incidents across the South. Drownings occurred in Mississippi and Florida while multiple auto crashes claimed lives in Virginia Florida and Tennessee. An unidentified man died in Daytona Beach surf and rescues saved a 9 year old girl.
Montgomery Alabama July 4 Mrs Verna Decisare 22 of this city and A Lacramus contractor of Selma are dead after a quarrel last night Policeman J H Fisher is held in connection with the death of Ceramus Caramus shot Decisare to death at her home Coroner Dimainfy absolved Fisher but said the case would be investigated Jealousy was cited as the motive Ceramus fired on Decisare then Fisher shot Ceramus five times with a 44 caliber pistol Caramus died two hours later Both Fisher and Ceramus were paying attention to Decisare

In the 100 meter run Elkins of Nebraska and Stewart of Hollywood A C placed first with times 11.15 seconds and 8.72 seconds respectively. Kinsey of Chicago A C Frieda of Illinois A C and Peters of Illinois unattached finished second totaling 809.6 points.
Richard Grace, 29, veteran stunt flier, attempted a takeoff from Mana Island Kauai at 5 24 pm local time for the California coast. The 4000 pound plane struck a bush on landing at Barking Sands field and wrecked. Grace and his accompanying puppy were unhurt. Grace had long sought to fly the lumbering craft and had previously wrecked many machines in his high risk routines.
Georgia's second team of public health officers sails to Louisiana to aid Mississippi Valley flood relief. Four physicians Dr J D Applewhite Dr J W Wallace Dr Hugo Robinson and Dr W H Houston will vaccinate refugees against smallpox and train local inspectors for sanitary work over 30 days.
In Atlanta on July 4 sanitation experts note wing speeds of common insects. The cephenemyia, a South American fly, allegedly covers 400 yards per second, about 815 miles per hour, making a trip around the world in under 30 hours possible.
Beloit Kansas July 4 Senator Smith W Brookhart denounces the federal reserve system and the McNary Haugen veto. He calls for unity of the west and south to oppose what he calls a money trust and argues the reserve harms farmers and agriculture while enriching Wall Street.
Daytona Beach Florida July 4 Dr Lt Martin De Bizaki Puky Hungarian attorney and said to be a first cousin of Admiral Horthy drowned yesterday while swimming in the surf. He went alone and ventured too far from other bathers who might have rescued him. He had not practiced law since coming to this country 15 years ago.
Commander Richard E. Byrd will address the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris at an Independence Day dinner. The speech will be broadcast to the United States first from the Eiffel Tower then from Daventry and Rueilly in England. Byrd is to speak around midnight Paris time. Foch and Bokanowsky also will have broadcasts with the Republican Guard band.
Captain F T Courtney plans a seaplane dash across the Atlantic from England to the United States with navigator Downer and technician Little. The crew aims for a night landing off the Battery New York with searchlights ready and a 2600 mile range fuelled by 1000 gallons. If successful, return flight by air is intended after the Newfoundland crossing.

Buffalo N Y July 4 a new low temperature mark for July was recorded as the mercury dropped to 46 degrees at oclock this morning one degree below the prior record of July 21 1898. The cool weather persisted throughout the day with chilling winds along the Niagara frontier and demand for warmer clothing.
The Ninth Annual Fourth of July Tournament at Glen Arven Country Club began with 104 entrants. Morning scores peaked with Roscoe Beverly at 74 and C. K. Wall at 75, while the competition included ten teams from Quitman Valdosta Thomasville and more. Social events and decorations drew large crowds and visiting ladies enjoyed the day.
