New Hope Club Plans Benefit Square Dance Friday

The New Hope Community Club hosts a benefit square dance at the club house this Friday from 7 30 p m to midnight. Proceeds support future club projects with arrangements chaired by George Herring and a committee led by Theo Crocker. Music by a string quartet includes Lawrence Godwin Danny Carter Wayle Majors and James Majors with Reuben Vick calling sets. snacks and drinks available. tickets are 1 each from members or at the door.

Review of The Mansion by Faulkner at Study Class

Nat M. Williams Jr. will present a review of The Mansion by William Faulkner at Thursday's Study Class meeting. Mrs. Lee Singletary invites the public to attend at 4 am in the Municipal Building Study Class rooms. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary reorganized and will meet at the VFW Post 8 for their first year meeting.

Mothers March on Polio Planned for Thursday Evening

The Mothers March on Polio sponsored by the Junior Service League starts Thursday evening. Mire Herbert Whitfield urges home donors to leave lights on for volunteer collectors. Workers meet at 6 30 p m in City Court, Municipal Building for a brief meeting led by Rev. Cham McMillan. House to house visits by hundreds of mothers begin at 7 p m and run until 9 p m.

Stork Club reports the birth of Patricia Joyce NeSmith, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. NeSmith and Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Chastain Sr., of Thomasville. Also announced is the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Riley Futch Jr., Bainbridge, Jan. 26 at Riverside Hospital, the mother formerly Frances Hancock of Thomasville.

Mrs E W Hardy state chairman of the American Mothers Committee announces a statewide search for the 1960 Mother of Georgia Nomination blanks are distributed to national women's organizations and churches.
