Detroit January 24 Henry Ford introduces the flivver plane the first Ford manufactured aircraft. Pilot Harry Brookson plans a non stop run to Miami Fla the craft features a wing span under 20 feet a 48 gallon tank and an estimated 1 400 mile range on half load at about 100 miles per hour. Tests show fuel use slightly above two gallons per 100 miles.

Tornado damages farms near Paducah and injures child
A small tornado struck two miles from Paducah Kentucky causing destruction on the Guy Legeau farm. Two barns and a brick residence were damaged along with nearby farm buildings. A child was killed and thirty pupils escaped injury when a schoolhouse was toppled.
