Commission Denies Southern Bell Rate Increase in Georgia
ATLANTA AP The Public Service Commission rejected Southern Bell Telephone Co. request for a 41.3 million rate hike saying it could prompt more utility requests. If approved, residential bills would rise about 50 cents monthly, Atlanta 70 cents, and pay phone calls statewide would jump from 10 to 20 cents.
