Atlanta January 12 AP word confirms Wright Bryan a German prisoner of war is safe and well. Captain Chester McAdams former Morven Ga principal and war correspondent for the Atlanta Journal writes to Mrs Bryan saying he is with me and safe. Official War Department notice earlier confirmed Bryan as a prisoner of war.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Bainbridge for Underwood C Cochran 48 who died at his Planter Street home after several years of illness. He was a U.S. American Legion member and Baptist Church member, survived by his wife, a daughter in Abbeville Alabama, three sons in Bainbridge, a granddaughter, his mother, three sisters, and two brothers.

In Donalsonville Georgia on January 12, the Merchants and Farmers Bank holders elected Mrs Lela Y Cummings and local businessmen as directors for the year. Henry 0 Cummings became President and Cashier succeeding his late father. Mrs Lela Y Cummings and J J Cummings named vice presidents. Carolyn Lane named assistant cashier and secretary to the board.
