The 22 member Norman College choir directed by Eliot Newsome will perform Sunday at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Thomasville. Norman students will join the program for a religious concert.
The Norman College Choir and Baptist Student Union deputies plan a 7 p.m. service at First Baptist Church. Georgia Baptist College Day promotes gifts to six Georgia Baptist colleges including Mercer Tift Shorter Norman Brewton Park Truett-McConnell and the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. The Georgia Baptist Convention seeks a 15 percent budget boost through cooperative gifts.
Br. Glen Schunk will conduct revival services tomorrow through next Sunday. He is described as a dynamic evangelist who has helped thousands convert to Christianity in campaigns across 40 states and Canada. Pastor Mr. McMillen notes Schunk’s long history in evangelism and his impact in numerous churches.
The Rev. J Harold Beaty outlines morning service at 11 25 with Love Never Faileth. The Adult Choir sings When Thou Prayest and church school meets at 10. Evening sermon at 7 On hitting the target you may have to aim beyond it. Mrs E H Ould of Roanoke Virginia appears for parents and youth sessions through Thursday.
Ash Wednesday services will be held this week at St. Thomas Episcopal Church led by Rev. Harry L Babbit rector. The worship includes Holy Eucharist at 7 30 am and 5 30 pm with penitential office and litany at 12 15 pm. The Lent season begins with fasting and ends Easter Eve April 9.
Thomasville churchgoers will join a global World Day of Prayer service on Friday February 25 at 11 a.m. at St Thomas Episcopal Church led by Mrs James Anderson chairing the local World Day of Prayer Committee. First Methodist Church under Mrs Roscoe Maxwell will manage the program.
The Primitive Baptist Church on Bartow Street invites Elder W F Agan of Statesboro as guest speaker for both morning and evening worship Sunday. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. Morning worship at 11, youth fellowship at 6 p.m., and evening worship at 7.
Rev. Rutledge E. Courtney leads the 11 o clock worship with The Case for Christian Education as the sermon topic. Sunday school starts at 9 45 a m and Training Union at 6 15 p m. Special music by Sidney and Virginia Buckley. Evening sermon Un less the Spirit and the Ordinance of Baptism will be observed. A worship service at Whispering is noted.
