Eastern Time timetable lists Via and Tallahassee departures and arrivals for routes to Dothan Bainbridge Waycross and Jacksonville with specific times morning and afternoon. Through buses connect Mian to multiple destinations including Valdosta Tifton and Jacksonville with various daily and limited days notes.
Large attendance at the Chapel for Sunday services with Chaplain Richardson delivering a message on The Empty Place. The decor featured azaleas from Waldens Flower Shop and Miss Margaret Garrison of Ochlocknee sang. An evening vesper service followed with music by Otto E. Pence and a John T. Morrison postlude. Two reservations were set for the Brunswick convention March 31 to April 1. Members discussed possible club division into circles and awaited member input before a March decision. A display on Old Glass plus talks on glass history were given by several members. Hostesses planned a Valentine themed reception with red gladioli and tulips.
Miss Virginia Kiser daughter of Rev and Mrs G G Kiser will wed Troy Theo Barrett of Cairo at Quitman Baptist Church on Thursday February 23 at 4 p m The ceremony will be performed by her father with her brother Rev C C Kiser Jr of Orlando presenting the bride Aline Harris of Thomasville will be matron of honor Ed Barrett of Cairo will be best man and ushers include Jack Kiser Sea Island and Irvin Wheeler of Cairo Mrs Paul Bennet will be organist and Evacs Plowden soloist A rehearsal will precede the wedding with a reception at the Kiser home and an out of town guest list.
Atlanta February 16 AP state auditor Thrasher says the current income will pay the expanded program costs for schools roads hospitals and pensions for only two more months. He reports January expenditures exceeded income by over 200000 and notes 1875000 was allocated to sustain Governor Talmadge’s public service expansion for February. A 616000 surplus from January would fund two more months if income does not rise. The February allocation totals 716000 for schools 416000 for roads 291000 for welfare pensions and 83000 for Battey Tuberculosis treatment at Milledgeville State Hospital.

Amidst week prayer service at East Side Baptists Church led by the pastor Thursday at Eight O’clock featuring gospel singing and a one prayer time. The 88 year old church window from Word of God sits near the People’s Church of Thorn Anville. Everyone is urged to attend and officers will meet Sunday at 7:15 for the weekly gathering.

The Hotel Negotiating Committee of the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce announces it will entertain proposals for a hotel on the former Tesco Hotel site at Broad and Jefferson. The Archbold Memorial Hospital custodian with a $25,000 fund will participate in a suitable project. Proposals must be written and submitted by 6 p.m. EST February 18, 1950, to the Hotel Negotiating Committee.

Corporal Lamont J. Redfearn 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. W C Redfearn Route 2 Pavo Ga, selected by his commander to attend the Non-Commissioned Officers leadership school at Camp McGill Japan for eight weeks. He entered service December 1947, trained at Camp Hood Texas and sailed for Japan October 12 1948.
Mr and Mrs Frank Chance honored their daughter Susan at a Legion Home prom and dance in Quitman on February 16. About 70 guests attended to celebrate her 12th birthday with a Valentine themed party, cake with 12 candles, and cookies, cake and punch served. Susan wore a rose taffeta dance frock and a corsage of white carnations.
