Miss Nannie Philpot arrived with Mrs. Oscar Price of Texas, guests of Mr and Mrs. George W Ferrall on Dawson Grest after a trip to Albany yesterday.

On Thursday January 9 Judge Mark Newman ordinary of Washington county marked his 75th birthday in Sandersville. He has served over 20 years in office and is regarded for a life well spent. Friends in Savannah and Thomasville send congratulations and best wishes for many returns of the day.
Dupont Guerry, candidate for governor, spoke to a sizable crowd yesterday morning in the court house. Judge H. W. Hopkins introduced him. Guerry argued taxes on railroads, opposed a new Atlanta depot, supported state prohibition, and condemned lobbyists with blunt facts and figures.

Cleveland Feb 8. It is stated that Miss Mabel Hanna eldest daughter of Senator M A Hanna is engaged to be married to Mr Harry A Parsons of Cleveland Parsons is a protégé of Senator Hanna whom he impressed with his work in the last presidential campaign

Mr M Mallette received a telegram informing of the death of Dr B H Hardwick at his Conyers Georgia home. Dr Hardwick was a brother in law of Mr Mallette, having married Miss Katie Mallette who was well known in Thomasville.
Bernard J. Butler born May 13 1830 in East Lebanon Maine lived in California and later Thomasville where he ran a varied business and the builders and mill trades. He married Maryland Adams and leaves eight children. A devout Christian and Mason he died at home Sunday afternoon surrounded by family. Funeral was held 3 pm with Thomasville Lodge 869 and Masonic rites at the grave.
