General Electric plans a see it display for housewives with an all electric kitchen including stove refrigerator and dishwasher. Thomasville dealer Mr Lee Neel Jr sponsors the public exhibit on Broad street in front of Neels. Bus schedule lists Cairo Bainbridge and intermediate points with multiple daily departures.
Two Thomasville firms consolidate to form Troy Company Inc led by W L Bartlett and Frank Dollar with Bartlett as president. The new firm at 121 South Broad street retains Bon Ton Cleaners quarters and expands plant to meet rising demand. Dollar serves as production manager and Bartlett handles the business end while inviting patrons to visit and inspect the enlarged facility.

George Holford was arrested by Valdosta police at the request of Valdosta officers and taken back to Valdosta by Lowndes County Sheriff J L Spivey. He was charged with beating a hundred dollar board bill at the Daniel Ashley Hotel. Officers Hughes and Allen spotted him on Smith Avenue after a late-night lookout and captured him following a short chase. He pretended surprise at the arrest and charges.
A string of regional visitors includes Mr. L. and Lee of Jacksonville and Mrs. M. C. Whaley of Tampa. Funeral services are set for Frances Heald of Fredonia with survivors listed. Infant Sue Eileen Wolf, born last Thursday, has died. Additional arrivals include Mrs. Payne Whitney party en route to New York and Senator James Wadsworth guests at Greenwood.
Billie King, a young woman held with a companion, collapsed in custody today and was transported to a hospital. Authorities suspect she ingested permanganate of potash stored among her belongings. she is not known to local authorities.
The Rev J E Reese and St Thomas A M E church thank Musical Thom asville and friends for strong support at a recent musicale. Laura Barrett was the guest contralto. the revival was a success with heavy applause. Next, the play Pearly Gates on March 6 and 8. church choir to perform negro spirituals on Sunday afternoon with a free will offering.
Governors of the Detroit Stock Exchange voted to close the market for the bank holiday proclaimed by Governor William A. Comstock. The decision came at a special morning meeting in Detroit.
Mrs. Mary Walker Singletary wife of former Sheriff I S Singletary died at home three miles southwest of Ochlocknee after a six week illness from influenza and pneumonia. Funeral Thursday at her daughter's residence in Thomasville with dignitaries and a church quartet. She survived by nine children, numerous grandchildren and sisters, and was noted for her Christian devotion and service as jailer at the county prison.
Betty Jean Williams seven months old was found dead in her bed at 106 College Street Fletcher town by her mother. Authorities believe smothering under blankets caused death with the child grasping the edge of the covering as the last struggle. Funeral services will be held from the residence tomorrow morning, with burial at Williams Cemetery on the Barwick road. The family and community mourn the loss of a precious infant.
The Thomasville city council approved a license reduction for light and power rates and extended discounts for timely payments. Debate included bank funds in closed banks and a pledge of council confidence in Judge J W H Mitchell. Budget talks moved to divert millions for unpaid 1928 1931 appropriations and school funds. Georgia Governor Talmadge welcomed a new automobile tag rate with a $3 minimum and relief for farmers.
