It promises fat loss by taking a half teaspoon daily in hot water, claiming renewed energy and a youthful look. The Department of Justice filed two anti trust suits in Ohio alleging interlocking directorships among ten steel firms and seeking to block a merger between Republic Steel and Corrigan McKinney Steel. The firms hold assets totaling about 1 278 billion dollars and violate Clayton Act section 7 by stock acquisitions that lessen competition.
A theft charge lodged by Mrs. Harward De Walden Cooke against her son-in-law George Scarlett was dismissed by Police Judge Donald A. De Lashmutt. The judge called it a family affair and noted witnesses' reluctance to testify. Scarlett, formerly of Winston-Salem, eloped with Jane Cooke, Mrs. Cooke’s then 15-year-old daughter, and the case involved two automobiles two dogs and part of the family's liquor supply.

Thomasville school and night school students, led by Miss Alberta Goff, prepare to perform The Pirates of Penzance abridged as H M S Pinafore at the senior high auditorium in McIntyre Park tomorrow at eight. About forty pupils star with Paul Dollar, Douglas Frazier, Billy Rungar, Elizabeth Lewis and Hazel Davis leading. Admission is 10 and 35 cents with proceeds for school purposes.

Mr G T Cassels of Americus Ga was a business visitor to this city yesterday. Mr and Mrs T N Dollar are receiving congratulations on the arrival of a fine son born Friday February 1st at the John D Archbold Memorial Hospital. He will be called Charles Thomas.
Atlanta Feb 7 Senator Crawford of Rome sponsors a bill to prohibit banking companies from operating more than one bank in Georgia. The announcement ends a legislative battle between rival banking interests.
Senators Dixon Smith of Columbus and William Hart of Newnan say they received letters praising their act of inviting Huey Long to speak to the house after sending a telegram to President Roosevelt apologizing for the invitation. They cited a New Orleans telegram calling Long the greatest demagogue and criticizing any support for his rhetoric.
Government economists announced that U S farmers will receive about 422 million dollars in 1935 payments under the AAA program. Wheat, corn hogs, cotton, sugar and peanuts are listed with specific benefits. Officials note AAA costs largely go to payments rather than administration, with payroll growing from 27,177 to 39,710.
