City Council Approves Bond Transfer to Aid Schools
At a Wednesday night meeting the City Council decided to sell fifteen thousand bonds of Troupe county held in the sinking fund to J W Hillsman Co of Atlanta for one hundred one plus interest from January first. The fund plus fifteen thousand cash would be transferred to the Board of Education to start school work. Thirty thousand in new school bonds would replace the cash given, and Judge H W Hopkins aims to dispose of up to twenty thousand of the sinking fund at par to speed funding for the new building, lot purchase, and remodeling of Fletcherville school. The Finance Committee will arrange bond printing legal opinion and transfer of funds.
