Howard Miller outlined a 1957 Follies Manhattan tour in musical comedy form to a large Service League talent party crowd. He said the show will have parts for hundreds of singers dancers and soloists and noted Junior League in Charlotte N C will participate.

The American Legion Post 31 and Auxiliary host a Family Night dinner tonight at 7:80 at the Masonic Building on Crawford Street. The Post Home has moved from its former site and work on the new building on the same lot is underway.
Mrs. Janie T. Lawhorn, American Legion Auxiliary second district president, leaves today to attend the national security conference of the American Legion Auxiliary at the Statler Hotel in Washington D C. Afterward she will attend the National Civil Defense School in Olney Maryland for a week before returning to Thomanville February 17.
The Friendship Class of First Baptist honored Mrs J Conn with a surprise Saturday birthday party. They met in town then traveled to her Albany Road home, sang Happy Birthday, and presented a red heart cake. Red gladioli and camellias formed decorations with red and white mints and refreshments. A poem titled Mrs Conn Has Happiness was read. twelve class members and two visitors attended.
Mrs. Maude Jenkins of Macon the Georgia grand matron will visit Meigs Chapter 415 and Pelham Chapter 808 in Meigs at 8 p m Tuesday with luncheon for Jenkins and other officers. District 32 visits include Bainbridge Attapulgus Colquitt Climax Cairo and Donalsonville this week. Local hospital guests listed with several names and a tonsillectomy patient noted.
Mr and Mrs Linton C Colling announce the birth of a daughter Monday at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She has been named Linda Marie. Her mother is the former Marceille McEver. The couple also has a son named Joey.
Mr and Mrs J P King of Thomasville announce the engagement of their daughter Frances Estelle to John Timothy Chastain son of Mr and Mrs T R Chastain of Thomasville Miss King attended Thomasville High School and works at a local store His fiancé attended Ochlochnee High School and is taking basic Air Force training at Lackland AFB San Antonio Texas A spring wedding is planned.
The 14 member group will present Charley's Aunt at the Municipal Auditorium on Feb 8 as part of the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation series. The company performed from Thule Greenland to Yokohama Japan incl a 16 hour flight from St John’s Newfoundland, and previously on U S military tours in Korea and Europe. Tickets are $3 orchestra $2.25 balcony $1.50 children.
Bainbridge officials announce the 1967 Camellia Show is cancelled due to severe weather. Show chairman George R. Tyson cited ruined blooms and a last minute lack of quality flowers from the recent cold spell. The event had been scheduled for February 9 and 10 at the National Guard Armory under local garden clubs sponsorship.
Miss Mary Guion to wed April 6 to Bobby Crawford and was celebrated in Atlanta with two parties. Her sister Pat Guion hosted a luncheon at the Henr Grady Hotel Paradise Room, and later Mrs. William Crawford and Mrs. Glenn Herod hosted a miscellaneous shower at Mrs. Herod’s home attended by about 80 guests.
Mrs Earl Mayo presented a Founders Day program at Boston PTA in the school auditorium. Participation included Mrs Lillian Scully Mrs Randle Ryan Mrs J R Gordon Mrs Oscar Cook Mrs J N Drinkark Mrs Frank Perry and Mrs J D Huddleston who also presided. Attendance awards went to the 8th and 10th grades and a birthday cake marked the PTA's fifth anniversary served by 7th and 8th grade parents. A birthday gift offering supported PTA work.
Dr J H Tillery, superintendent of Missions of the Sweetwater Association in Tennessee, spoke at the Meigs Baptist Church evening service. Pastor R E B Courtney will teach in a Bible Conference this week at Madisonville Tennessee. Mrs Lydia Bridges celebrated her 90th birthday Saturday at her Meigs home with gifts and cake.
Three newcomer families move to Thomasville from Selma Alabama Indiana polis Indiana Milestone N I Cairo Albany Pelham and other places. The arrivals were welcomed by a Thomasville Hospitality League representative.
