Lt. J. E. Johnson of Albany spoke on safety at the Pavo Elementary PTA meeting. He outlined highway dangers, driving responsibility, and safety laws. Johnson supervises 16 Southwest Georgia counties and cited 1964 road deaths as a call for caution.

Roderick Chastain Gibson of Thomasville is one of two Georgians to receive degrees at the University of North Dakota mid year commencement in Grand Forks. Gibson earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. Susan Smith, daughter of Mr. Angers, is named Miss Intramural at Andrew College and co captain of Team I in the women's intramural program. she is a former high school cheerleader whose favorite sports are basketball and baseball.
