Prominent Young Drugist Ends Life With Gun
Charles F. Groover, a member of Thomas Drug Store, was found dead in a wood house on North Dawson Street Christmas morning with a pistol in his hand and a single bullet wound to the temple. A coroner jury ruled death a personal safety related wound. Groover had lately recovered from a nervous collapse and had a daughter aged six and a baby daughter six months old. Funeral services were held at his Dawson Street residence with burial at Laurel Hill. 8,004 bales of cotton ginned in Thomas county for 1925 prior to December 13, 1925, versus 3,782 in 1924. Special Agent John D. Herring notes the figures. Mrs. G Webster and Master George Webster of Boston are patients at John D. Archibald Memorial Hospital.
